© 2001-2008 Craigbrae

The present house was built in the late eighteenth century and added to just before 1850. Even though there is no definitive history available, it is clear from old derelict farm buildings that there has been habitation and farming activity at Craigbrae since the 12th century when the church in the nearby village of Dalmeny was built.

Until the Westmacotts bought Craigbrae in 1977, it was owned by the Stuart Clark family of Dundas Castle whose land surrounds us.

Unlike a lot of other B&B establishments, Louise serves breakfast from the extra early time of 7 a.m. until 9 a.m. (even this is fairly flexible) in the family dining room overlooking the garden.

Weather permitting you may also wish to have breakfast al fresco. She is famous for her hearty breakfasts, which always include home made preserves.
