© 2001-2011 Craigbrae

Craigbrae was built in the late eighteenth century and added to just before 1850. Even though there is no definitive history available, it is clear from old farm buildings that there has been habitation and farming activity at Craigbrae since the 12th century when the church in the nearby village of Dalmeny was built.

Until the Westmacotts bought Craigbrae in 1977, it was owned by Sir Jack Stuart Clark of Dundas Castle whose land surrounds the house and garden.

Louise serves traditional full cooked breakfast to order in the family dining room overlooking the garden. A particular feature of breakfast at Craigbrae is the selection of home-made jams, but pride of place goes to raspberry and damson jams. It goes without saying that Michael is grower, picker and maker of these jams. Louise, however, is the marmalade queen.
